4.30pm - Agony for Alex Hales as he falls four runs short of a hundred at Trent Bridge, Tim Murtagh trapping him lbw. Durham are now seven down with only 180 on the board after Gordon Muchall is accounted for by Kyle Hogg, who now has four wickets to his name.

4.24pm - Yes, Alexei! Kervezee reaches a richly-deserved century and Worcestershire head to tea on 209 for nine.

4.13pm - Kervezee is beginning to run out of partners with Jack Shantry the latest man to fall as Richard Jones strikes.

3.54pm - A wicket falls at Trent Bridge, where Hales is approaching a century, as Neil Dexter bowls James Taylor. Meanwhile, Ben Raine has struck with successive balls at Grace Road, earning lbw verdicts against Ross Whiteley and Joe Leach. Another side to have lost a second wicket in quick succession are Hampshire, David Masters luring Michael Bates into an edge behind.

3.47pm - Just as the players are heading out at the 3aaa County Ground, rain - which had been falling during the interval - sends them back off!

3.26pm - Curran completes career-best figures of 5-51, ousting Tom Taylor as Derbyshire are dismissed for 153. They'll now take tea.

3.13pm - The Notts Express has been slowed a little, Steven Finn bowling Michael Lumb short of a half-century after his hundred partnership with Hales.

3.04pm - Ravi Bopara strikes in Southampton, ousting James Vince for 41. Derbyshire are now eight down, Tony Palladino edging Tom Curran behind.

2.54pm - More good work from Alex Hales, who continues his good form by reaching a typically aggressive half-century featuring 11 fours.

2.46pm - Mixed news for Worcestershire as Tom Kohler-Cadmore edges Charlie Shreck to gully before Alexei Kervezee moves to a half-century. Rob Key's fine innings has come to an end at the SWALEC Stadium, the skipper trapped lbw by Jim Allenby.

2.36pm - What's in the water at Durham and Derby, Ben Stokes the latest man to form when being castled by Kabir Ali the ball after a glorious straight four had moved him on to 21.

2.30pm - Lancashire are well and truly enjoying themselves now, Hogg's lifter finding the shoulder of Paul Collingwood's bat and flying to Usman Khawaja at gully.

2.23pm - Rain has curtailed proceedings at Grace Road, while Reece Topley has struck again at the Ageas Bowl by having Will Smith caught behind.

2.17pm - Lancashire continue to chip away at Durham, with Kyle Hogg trapping Michael Richardson lbw. Warwickshire are looking in even better shape as Chris Woakes has Richard Levi taken behind. It's not just bowlers smiling, though; Rob Key has just moved beyond 50 for Kent.

2.03pm - Northants lose a fourth wicket, Chris Wright trapping Matt Spriegel lbw.

1.53pm - The second session belatedly gets going at Trent Bridge while the players quickly return at the 3aaa County Ground. It could be a stop-start afternoon.

1.42pm - We're back underway in most of the games, but rain has delayed the start at Trent Bridge.

1.35pm -  A bit of lunchtime news for you all. Sussex have completed the signing of James Tredwell on an initial one-month loan. He will only be eligible to play in the LV= County Championship, while he will continue to play limited-overs cricket for Kent.
