James Tredwell has been given an opportunity to revitalise his red-ball career after joining Sussex on a month-long deal for LV= County Championship cricket.
The 32-year-old will link up with the county for a short spell, although there is scope for the deal to be extended. In that time, he will still feature for Kent in one-day cricket.
However, Tredwell - who has made 53 England appearances across all formats, all but one of them in limited-overs games - will continue to feature in the NatWest T20 Blast as well as the Royal London One-Day Cup for the Spitfires.
Tredwell last featured in four-day cricket for his county back in April and is excited about featuring in the longer formar once again.
The off-spinner said of his loan move to Sussex: “It’s a great opportunity for me to join up with a club like Sussex who I have admired for a long time throughout my career.
“I’ve played with a lot of the guys over the years and played age group cricket with the likes of Matt Prior and Carl Hopkinson so it’s an honour to join up with them again.
“I’m really looking forward to getting some red ball cricket under my belt.”
