Somerset are missing captain Marcus Trescothick for tomorrow’s NatWest T20 Blast visit of South Group leaders Hampshire to Taunton.
Trescothick suffered a slight groin strain in this week’s LV= County Championship defeat of Sussex and batted with a runner in the second innings.
In Trescothick’s absence James Hildreth will lead a side including dangerous all-rounder Peter Trego and Alfonso Thomas, who stunningly took four wickets in four balls on Tuesday.
Hampshire are set to include South Africa seamer Kyle Abbott, who was rested for this week’s championship draw with Worcestershire. Adam Wheater has recovered from the illness that kept him out of that game.
In-form James Vince will lead the vistors in a clash that has plenty of T20 history, the sides having met several times in the knockout stages of the domestic competition.
*James Hildreth needs 36 runs to become the second Somerset player after Marcus Trescothick to hit 2,000 runs in English domestic Twenty20s.
* Hampshire have won their last 12 completed away games in domestic Twenty20 cricket, last losing at the home venue of an opponent in July 2011, against Surrey.
