Surrey dominated against Gloucestershire, Ravi Bopara made 162 for Essex and Somerset bounced back from 39 for five to take the upper hand versus Sussex in the LV= County Championship.

7.05pm - We are done for the day around the country, so here is the state of play at stumps:
Division One
Sussex are 26 without loss against Somerset, who took a first-innings lead of 75 after 86 from Craig Overton and 65 from Craig Kieswetter at Taunton. Steve Magoffin claimed 6-60.
Warwickshire ended the day 130 for four against Lancashire, who made 286 after Tom Smith’s half-century. Will Porterfield will resume 51 not out at Edgbaston.
Only 9.3 overs’ play was possible at Headingley, where Yorkshire reached 76 for two in reply to Nottinghamshire’s 205.
Division Two
Surrey enjoyed a stunning first day against Gloucestershire, bowling their hosts out for 112 after they had chosen to bat and then cruising to 186 without loss in reply at Bristol. Rory Burns will resume two runs short of a century, with Zafar Ansari on 84.
Ravi Bopara's 162 powered Essex to 440 and a lead of 53 against Kent, who reached 35 without loss by stumps at the Spitfire Ground.
Worcestershire reached 402 for nine declared against Hampshire, built around Ben Cox’s maiden first-class century and 80 from Alexei Kervezee at New Road. David Balcombe took 3-53. Hampshire lost Michael Carberry to the first ball of their reply and closed on 10 for one.
Things are evenly poised at Grace Road, where David Wainwright’s unbeaten 83 helped Derbyshire recover from 115 for six to 279 for eight in response to Leicestershire’s 311. Alex Hughes made a career-best 60 and teenage debutant Tom Taylor is 20 not out.

6.23pm – Saeed Ajmal hits 24 from 21 balls before Worcestershire declare at 402 for nine against Hampshire.
Rory Burns is 98 not out overnight as stumps are drawn on a great day for Surrey.
6.10pm – Wainwright sees Derbyshire to a second batting point, reaching 69 in a total of 254 for eight. Fourteen overs are left to push on to a third as well.
6.03pm– Essex are finally bowled out for 440, a lead of 53 over Kent. Ravi Bopara made 162 and Tom Westley 116, while Mitchell Claydon took 5-82.
Ton up for Warwickshire, 101 for three against Lancashire with Will Porterfield 41 not out.
5.55pm– Cox is dismissed for 104, caught by Danny Briggs to give Glenn Maxwell his first championship wicket for Hampshire. That leaves Worcestershire 355 for eight, meaning they earned four batting points before the 110-over cut-off.
Kent and Essex are back under way and Tymal Mills has gone for an exuberant 30, his highest championship score, which came off 21 balls with five fours and a six.
5.41pm– Bowler James Anyon has stepped in to open the batting for Sussex after Luke Wells suffered an injury while bowling. Anyon batted number 10 in the first innings and went into the game with a first-class average of 14.58.
Surrey have stormed to 157 without loss, with Burns on 83 and Ansari 70.

5.34pm– Congratulations to Worcestershire wicketkeeper Cox, who raises his maiden first-class century to take his side to 330 for seven. He reached three figures in 178 balls with 13 fours and a six.
For Derbyshire, David Wainwright has accelerated to 50 with five boundaries in two overs. The visitors are 231 for seven in reply to 311, a good recovery from 115 for six.
Hamilton-Brown’s figures of 2-5 for Sussex actually represent his career best. The spinner’s second wicket came when a quicker ball scattered Thomas’ middle and leg stumps in opposite directions.
5.23pm– Somerset are dismissed for 289 and a lead of 75, Alfonso Thomas the last man out for 38. Craig Overton (86) and Craig Kieswetter (65) were the key men after Steve Magoffin (6-60) made early inroads.
Ben Cox has his best first-class score, 92 not out, with Worcestershire 319 for seven against Hampshire.
5.17pm– Craig Overton falls short of a deserved century for Somerset, caught by Chris Nash off Rory Hamilton-Brown for 86. He has seen his side to 283 for nine and a lead of 69 over Sussex.
Leicestershire take the new ball and quickly remove Hughes for 60, breaking a stand of 91 with David Wainwright who has quietly advanced to 33. Derbyshire now 206 for seven, Alex Wyatt taking 3-41.

5.04pm– Ansari joins Burns in reaching his half-century, a patient 125-ball affair, as Surrey reach 122 without loss.
Cox leads Worcestershire to 304 for seven from 100 overs, the wicketkeeper now 79 not out.

4.50pm– Surrey have the lead against Gloucestershire with all 10 wickets intact as openers Rory Burns and Zafar Ansari move their partnership to 113.
Kyle Hogg removes Laurie Evans for 20 at Edgbaston to leave Warwickshire 62 for three.
Derbyshire’s Alex Hughes has his maiden first-class half-century, 54 not out with his side 190 for six against Leicestershire.
Worcestershire lose Joe Leach for 32 but are 291 for six with Ben Cox on 72, closing on his first-class best of 89.
4.38pm – It’s cagey stuff after tea for the batting teams.

3.59pm - With most games now at the tea interval, here is how things stand:
Craig Overton’s unbeaten half-century has given Somerset a lead of 17 on 231 for eight against Sussex in Division One. Craig Kieswetter earlier hit 65, while Steve Magoffin has taken 6-60.
Warwickshire are 47 for two from 33 overs after bowling Lancashire out for 286.
There will be no further play today at Headingley, with the scheduled 4pm inspection not even required. Just 9.3 overs were possible this morning, Yorkshire reaching 76 for two in reply to Nottinghamshire’s 205.
In Division Two, Surrey are in total control after bowling out Gloucestershire for 112 and reaching 98 without loss in reply, with Rory Burns on 52 and Zafar Ansari 44.
Derbyshire reached tea on 157 for six in reply to Leicestershire’s 311. Alex Hughes has a career-best 39 not out, while Anthony Ireland, Alex Wyatt and Ben Raine have taken two wickets apiece.
Worcestershire and Hampshire are still on the field after a delayed start to the afternoon session, and Essex and Kent are also still playing.
3.48pm– Essex scrape to a fifth batting point off the last available delivery despite losing three wickets on 399, with ten Doeschate guiding a ball straight to slip and Adam Riley removing Ben Foakes and Monty Panesar. They are 400 for eight.
Worcestershire have 250 and a second point, with Cox on 57.
3.35pm– Ben Cox played an understated supporting role to Kervezee earlier but has now brought up his half-century, from 105 balls with seven fours, as Worcestershire reach 236 for five.
Essex move ahead on 394 for five against Kent, with Ryan ten Doeschate in one-day mode as they look to get their final bonus point – 16 runs just came from the 108th over, with two left to reach 400.
3.28pm– Somerset have the first-innings lead in a close game against Sussex, 219 for eight in reply to 214 with Craig Overton passing 50 from 58 balls.
Warwickshire lose their second wicket on 31, Ateeq Javid trapped lbw for seven by Glen Chapple – giving the veteran Lancashire captain figures of 5-4-1-1.
Rory Burns has passed 2,000 first-class runs and is 44 not out as he and opening partner Ansari take Surrey more than halfway to Gloucestershire’s total.

3.19pm– Essex lose Foster for 46 and Bopara for 162 in quick succession but are only 14 runs behind at 373 for five after Bopara hit Ben Harmison for three successive boundaries.

3.09pm– England one-day star Ravi Bopara reaches 150 for Essex against Kent, from 290 balls with 10 fours and a six. His side are 355 for three, just 32 behind on first innings.
Worcestershire reached 200 almost three overs after Kervezee’s dismissal and are currently 209 for five from 77 overs
Somerset also reach the landmark, albeit for the loss of seven wickets, with Craig Overton on 36 and Meschede 37.

Derbyshire have slipped to 115 for six in reply to Leicestershire’s 311. Gareth Cross is the latest to go, brilliantly bowled without scoring by Wyatt.
Surrey started watchfully after skittling Gloucestershire but have pressed on to 40 without loss in 15 overs after seeing off Will Gidman, who bowled an opening spell of six overs for two.

2.35pm– Somerset pass 150 as Craig Meschede and Overton see them to 154 for seven against Sussex.
They’re back under way at Worcestershire, with the hosts 193 for four against Hampshire and Alexei Kervezee 74 not out.
Derbyshire have their hundred up for the loss of four wickets, Marcus North on 23 not out.
Surrey have already cut the deficit to two figures, 19 without loss in reply to Gloucestershire’s 112.

2.21pm– Somerset’s troubles continue as Kieswetter quickly follows Trego back to the pavilion, Piolet interrupting Magoffin’s run of wickets with the help of Matt Machan’s catch. Kieswetter made an excellent 65 from 73 balls, more than half of his side’s 125 for seven.
Lancashire take their first wicket, Varun Chopra dismissed by Kabir Ali to leave Warwickshire 11 for one in response to 286.
Essex have their third batting point, reaching 300 for three against Kent as James Foster makes a rapid start alongside centurion Ravi Bopara.
2.13pm– The deadly Steve Magoffin breaks Somerset’s defiant partnership with his sixth wicket, Trego caught by Steffan Piolet for 27 after adding 86 with Kieswetter. Magoffin has 6-40.
Derbyshire lose Scott Elstone, caught behind for 13 chasing a wide delivery from Alex Wyatt to leave his side 90 for four.
2.04pm – Mitchell Claydon takes his and Kent’s third wicket against Essex, Jesse Ryder bowled for 10 to leave the visitors 283 for three in reply to 387.
Surrey have begun their reply to Gloucestershire's 112, Rory Burns and Zafar Ansari their opening batsmen.
1.49pm - While Hampshire and Worcestershire are nearing a restart, play has not resumed after the lunch interval at Headingley as rain continues.

Rain has limited play at Headingley where Yorkshire have added 24 without loss to their overnight 52 for two, which is in reply to Nottinghamshire’s 205.

There has been no play this morning at New Road where second-placed Worcestershire are 175 for four against leaders Hampshire.

12.34pm – Incredibly, it gets worse for Gloucestershire who are 67 for eight as occasional bowler Jason Roy strikes three times in five balls, first having Will Gidman lbw and, next over, bowling Benny Howell and Tom Smith in consecutive deliveries.
Unfortunately only two overs were possible at the Spitfire Ground before rain returned, Essex moving on to 257 for one in response to 387.
12.22pm – Magoffin’s demolition drive continues as he traps James Hildreth lbw and gets Alviro Petersen edging behind in consecutive overs. Somerset are 39 for five in reply to 214 and the seamer has figures of 7.2-2-13-5!

11.05am – Sussex skipper Ed Joyce takes Alfonso Thomas for four in the first over of the day, moving him from an overnight 99 to three figures.
There is a delayed start to day three between Kent and Essex at the Spitfire Ground due to rain.
Surrey strike a quick blow as Chris Tremlett bowls Dan Housego for nought in the game’s first over.
There is also an early breakthrough for Leicestershire’s Anthony Ireland, who ousts Paul Borrington.
10.55am – A minute’s silence is taking place at Bristol in honour of David Allen, the former England and Gloucestershire player who died on May 24. The hosts and Surrey are wearing black arm bands today as a mark of respect.
10.45am –Gloucestershire have chosen to bat first facing Surrey at Bristol. No doubt it’s a good batting pitch after the hosts piled up 207 for three in yesterday’s NatWest T20 Blast clash with Glamorgan, which was washed out after one innings.

Ed Joyce continued his superb form with 99 not out, yet Sussex were struggling on 210 for nine against Somerset at Taunton.

On day two at the Spitfire Ground, Essex are 253 for one replying to Kent’s 387 thanks to unbeaten centuries from Tom Westley and Ravi Bopara.
