4.05pm –Worcestershire take tea on 172 for four, with Kervezee on 63, and Sussex at 163 for six, Joyce on 63 not out.

3.55pm - Leicestershire reach the tea interval at 235 for six. An unbroken 55-run stand between O'Brien and Ben Raine has lifted the Foxes, who had to battle back from 11 for three this morning.

3.48pm - Steven Croft survives a dropped catch just before tea - Porterfield spilled the chance at midwicket - and goes into the break unbeaten on 28. Tom Smith is with him on 12 and Lancs are 166 for five.

3.46pm - A great start for Notts as Siddle strikes with the second ball of the Yorkshire innings. Lyth is caught behind for a duck. The Victorian banana-eating woodchopper is having a good day after his late-order runs.

3.40pm - Somerset strike just before tea. It is a terrific catch by Johann Myburgh to dismiss Ben Brown. Craig Overton is the bowler who benefits from his team-mate's athleticism and Sussex are 146 for six. The wicket came moments after Ed Joyce posted his fifty.

3.30pm - Matt Coles traps Ross Whiteley lbw - that's his first wicket of the day - and Worcs are 139 for four against Hampshire.

3.24pm - Rashid claims his second wicket in the over to finish the job. Andre Adams fails to score as he is caught by Bresnan at long-on and Notts are all out for 205. Siddle remains unbeaten on 39, from 35 balls, after blasting some much-needed lower-order runs for the visitors. That will be tea at Headingley.

O'Brien has reached his fifty, from 65 balls, for Leicestershire at Grace Road. The hosts are 210 for six as they continue to scrap away towards a worthwhile first-innings score.

3.14pm - Bopara and Westley both reach 50 in the same Adam Riley over and their second-wicket stand is now worth 100.

3.10pm - Peter Siddle launches Adil Rashid for a straight six and that is the 50-run stand with Luke Fletcher. These are valuable tailend runs for Notts who are 197 for eight at Headingley.

2.55pm - A wicket in the top-of-the-table clash in Division Two. Tom Fell edges David Balcombe into the slips for James Vince to hold on. Worcestershire are 103 for three.

Palladino has three wickets at Grace Road. He has Rob Taylor caught by Alex Hughes at cover to end a 67-run stand for the sixth wicket with Niall O'Brien.

2.49pm - Essex are moving along nicely at the Spitfire Ground. Ravi Bopara and Tom Westley have added another 50 runs in the hour after lunch to help the visitors to 97 for one.

2.40pm - Frustration for Jos Buttler as he goes for a duck. He feathers a simple edge through to the wicketkeeper off Chris Wright and Lancashire are now 126 for five.

2.38pm - It gets worse for Notts as they slip to 139 for eight. Read's breezy 30 from 31 balls is ended by a run-out and then Ajmal Shahzad fails to score aganist his former employers; trapped lbw by Tim Bresnan.

2.31pm - Davies is out this time as Jeetan Patel slips one through his defences and into his stumps. The Lancashire man made 59, his third first-class half-century, from 148 balls.

2.25pm - Notts are counter-attacking at Headingley. Michael Lumb finds the ropes three times in two Steven Patterson overs, although he survives a drop by Rich Pyrah at short extra-cover. With skipper Chris Read alongside him they have put on 45 in quick time.

2.19pm - There is good news from Taunton. The umpires are happy and play will resume at 2.30pm.

2.12pm - There will be a pitch inspection at Taunton in a few moments. Hopefully, a re-start is not too far away after that heavy downpour.

2.03pm - The lunch break has not been kind to Leicestershire as now Ned Eckersley follows Cobb back to the pavilion. The pair had put together a 100-run stand to repair the damage from 11 for three, but Eckersley falls three overs after his partner; lbw to Tony Palladino for 44.

2pm - Davies catches a lucky break at Edgbaston on 56. He edges Barker to slip where Will Porterfield holds the chance, but before Warwickshire can begin to celebrate they notice the umpire's arm is outstretched. No-ball.

1.47pm - Jack Brooks strikes immediately after lunch and he now has three for the day. Riki Wessels edges to Adam Lyth at second slip and Notts are 90 for five.

There is also a quick wicket at Grace Road. Josh Cobb reaches his half-century for Leicestershire, but he picks out backward point next ball off Mark Footitt.

1.42pm - Alex Davies needs just three balls after lunch to tick over to a much-neeed half-century for the Lancashire man personally. He turns Keith Barker away for a single.

1.07pm – Here’s the lunch scores. Today’s five toss-winners batted first.

Division One

Yorkshire have reduced Nottinghamshire to 84 for four at Headingley with two wickets in an over for Jack Brooks.

Somerset have chipped away at Sussex to make them 84 for four at Taunton.

Lancashire are 98 for two versus Warwickshire at Edgbaston, Alex Davies and Andrea Agathangelou having added 78 for the second wicket. Davies is 49 not out.

Division Two

On day two at the Spitfire Ground Essex are 44 for one, replying to Kent who were all out for 387 this morning.

Second-placed Worcestershire are 85 for two against leaders Hampshire at New Road.

Leicestershire have recovered from 11 for three to reach 107 for three against Derbyshire at Grace Road thanks to an unbroken stand of 96 between Josh Cobb and Ned Eckersley.

1.02pm – A curse again! Agathangelou inside-edges New Zealand spinner Jeetan Patel onto his pad and is caught at slip for 31, ending a stand of 78 with Davies.

Remarkably, Leicestershire move into three figures still three down with Cobb and Eckersley’s alliance now worth 96. It’s lunch at Grace Road. We’ll soon round up all the interval scores.

12.53pm – Alex Davies and Andrea Agathangelou are making good on Steven Croft’s targeted team batting improvement, having added more than 70 for the Lancashire’s second wicket.

12.42pm – Sorry Worcestershire. It looks like the previous entry cursed you with James Tomlinson now pinning Matt Pardoe lbw for 21.

Essex, replying to Kent’s 387, lose Nick Browne to Claydon early on via a second-slip catch.

12.35pm – Lancashire and Worcestershire are so far making the most of winning the toss, having each lost just one wicket and passing 50 in the process.

12.18pm – Jack Brooks cheaply traps James Taylor in front and has Samit Patel held at backward point for nought in the same over, making Notts 46 for four.

Cobb and Ned Eckersley are staging a Leicestershire recovery from 11 for thee, having shared a fifty partnership.

12.08pm – Kent are all out for 387 in the match that began yesterday as Harimson is run out for 18 by Tymal Mills, the man whose blow to the glove yesterday caused him to retire hurt.

12.03pm – There has now been a wicket in every game starting today as Hampshire’s David Balcombe gets Worcestershire skipper Daryl Mitchell caught behind in the battle between Division Two’s top two.

Yorkshire’s Tim Bresnan ends an opening spell with economical figures of 7-1-17-1.

11.51am – Trego snares a second scalp, Chris Nash nicking to first slip for 15 to make Sussex 25 for three. Perhaps not-out batsman Ed Joyce is questioning his decision at the toss?

Monty Panesar bags Adam Riley at short-leg for 18 to leave Kent 374 for nine.

11.42am – Yorkshire strike twice in two overs, Adam Lyth holding an excellent low slip take to give Tim Bresnan the scalp of former White Rose team-mate Phil Jaques for 20. Lyth has been fielding brilliantly of late, including a stunning relay for a catch as he fell over the boundary rope in Friday’s NatWest T20 Blast Roses win.

11.33am – Two drops and a wicket! Lancashire’s Paul Horton is reprieved by wicketkeeper Tim Ambrose, who next ball holds on off Chris Wright to send Horton on his way. Leicestershire’s Josh Cobb chips Footitt to midwicket where David Wainwright shells a one-handed chance.

11.20am – Leicestershire captain Ramnaresh Sarwan is surely regretting his decision to bat first as he is held at short-leg off Footitt, making the hosts 11 for three in the third over.

Sussex’s Luke Wells falls at third slip off Alfonso Thomas.

11.13am – Leicestertershire make a poor start, Mark Footitt having Angus Robson caught at gully from the game’s first ball and next over Tony Palladino trapping Greg Smith in front.

Kent lose an early wicket on day two, Mitchell Claydon caught behind for 24 off David Masters. Ben Harmison, who retired hurt yesterday, has returned to the crease.
