Leicestershire Foxes’ hopes of reaching the semi-finals of the Yorkshire Bank 40 suffered a massive blow as they crashed to a 34-run defeat against Glamorgan at Grace Road.
Chasing a victory target of 266, the Foxes lost their way after Josh Cobb and Niall O'Brien provided a solid start with an opening stand of 60 in nine overs.
Four wickets fell for 11 runs and, despite 71 from Australian Joe Burns, the Foxes were bowled out for 231 with one ball unused.
The win was Glamorgan's fourth of the season and saw them leapfrog the Foxes into third place in Group C.
Leicestershire have now lost three of their last four games after starting with three straight wins.
Glamorgan made the perfect start after being inserted, Will Bragg taking 17 runs off Nathan Buck's first over, including a six from a free-hit following a no-ball.
Mark Wallace, pictured right, was also in good form at the top of the order and went on to reach 50 off 42 balls with seven fours.
The Foxes finally made a breakthrough when Bragg, going for another big hit off Jigar Naik, was caught at long-on for 33.
Naik soon added the wicket of Wallace, superbly caught at cover by Ned Eckersley for 61.
Chris Cooke kept the Glamorgan innings on track with 55 off 57 deliveries and Murray Goodwin added 41 in quick time to provide further impetus, despite a flurry of late wickets.
Leicestershire made a confident start in reply, only to collapse dramatically when Cobb was bowled by Jim Allenby for 35.
Greg Smith was lbw to Allenby's next delivery and O'Brien caught behind off Michael Hogan in the following over.
That meant the Foxes had lost three wickets in six balls without scoring a run and Shiv Thakor was soon run out to give Glamorgan complete control.
Burns did his best to keep the Foxes alive, accelerating after a slow start with the aid of seven fours and two maximums.
There were also quick runs for Michael Thornely and Rob Taylor, but Leicestershire ultimately fell well short, Hogan finishing with 3-38.
