Eoin Morgan speaks about his hectic schedule over the next month

Eoin Morgan is one of the busiest players in English cricket at the moment and he would not have it any other way.

After hitting his first LV= County Championship century in four years this week – to boost his hopes of a Test recall - Morgan will be one of the key figures as Middlesex begin their NatWest T20 Blast campaign with a double-header at Lord’s today versus Essex Eagles and Sussex Sharks.

With the hardly small matter of thencaptaining England for their NatWest International T20 against Sri Lanka at the Kia Oval on Tuesday, Morgan has plenty on his plate.

“I’ll be a very proud captain,” Morgan told ecb.co.uk.

“It’s something that I’ve really enjoyed over the years when I’ve been asked to do it, especially when I’ve done it in international cricket.

“It’s certainly been something that I’ve thrived upon and loved both sides of it – winning and giving guys caps and watching them flourish in either forms of the game.”

The Blast double-header at HQ will give Morgan the perfect chance to hone his skills for the Sri Lanka match, and his team-mates are also looking forward to the occasion.

“We’re very excited,” Morgan said.

“It’s the first-ever double header in domestic cricket and there’s no better place to have it than at the home of cricket against two exciting sides.

“There will be a lot of international players like (Alastair) Cook, (Ravi) Bopara and myself – Yasir Arafat will be playing and Chris Jordan will be playing so the quality will certainly be there.”
