Rain washed out play on the first day of Nottinghamshire's LV= County Championship match against Northamptonshire at Trent Bridge.
The covers were removed for an inspection at 11.15am following rain in the morning but there was no action, with lunch taken 75 minutes later and a further inspection scheduled for early afternoon.
However, the elements persisted and play was abandoned for the day after another look at 4pm, with the game set to resume tomorrow.

The hosts included England limited-overs international Alex Hales in their line-up for the clash after recalling the powerful batsman from his month-long loan spell at Worcestershire.
Hales’ recall after just one game for the Division Two outfit was due to an elbow injury sustained by Steven Mullaney, who opted to sit out this match in order to be fit for the start of the Outlaws’ NatWest T20 Blast campaign on Friday.
