Watch highlights of day two
Veteran duo Marcus Trescothick and Alfonso Thomas showed they can still teach Somerset's young guns a thing or two as they fought back on day two of their LV= County Championship Division One clash with Nottinghamshire at Taunton.
Nottinghamshire looked set for a formidable first-innings total after amassing 382 for five on the opening day, but they could only add another 58 runs this morning before being dismissed for 440 as Thomas ran through the visitors to finish with figures of 5-127.
Captain Trescothick, fresh from making his first championship century since 2012 against Sussex last week, then struck 72 in reply as Somerset reached 237 for four by the close, with Alviro Petersen and Craig Kieswetter unbeaten on 62 and 32 respectively.
Trescothick's return to form following a barren 2013 will be welcome news for the Somerset faithful, as will the performance of Thomas who outshone the team's rising stars Lewis Gregory and Jamie Overton to hurry Nottinghamshire out early on.

The 37-year-old seamer claimed four of the five wickets to fall in the morning session, including those of overnight batsmen Samit Patel and Chris Read who had launched a blistering assault on the Somerset bowlers last night.
Read could only add one to his overnight 95 before he edged to fellow wicketkeeper Kieswetter in the third over of the day and the same combination later did for Patel, who had progressed from 116 to 132 when he nicked Thomas behind.
Thomas also sent back Peter Siddle and Jake Ball before 21-year-old Gregory, with 4-80, finished things off by bowling Andy Carter, taking his tally for the season to 22.
Trescothick and another of Somerset's youngsters Chris Jones then launched their side's response with a solid 58-run opening stand before the 23-year-old was snared by Siddle.
The Australia paceman had been smashed for 14 runs off the final three balls of his previous over by Trescothick, but he gained a measure of revenge with the first delivery of his next set of six as he bowled Jones for 20.
That brought Nick Compton to the crease and, after he survived a huge caught-behind shout off Siddle, he departed for 25, caught by Riki Wessels at slip as he slashed at a Steven Mullaney delivery to leave Somerset on 105 for two.
Trescothick was still going strong, though, and the 38-year-old looked on course to record back-to-back centuries until he nibbled at a Siddle delivery and edged behind to Read.
James Hildreth's disappointing form continued as he could only add 12 before being trapped lbw by Carter and, with Somerset on 180 for four, Nottinghamshire sensed a chance to claim a significant first-innings advantage.
But Petersen and Kieswetter ensured there were no more setbacks for Somerset, who closed 203 runs behind as bad light brought a slightly early end to proceedings.
