Worcestershire will have on-loan Alex Hales available on a day when a host of their rivals are missing England players for LV= County Championship duty.

Hales et al head to the SWALEC Stadium to take on Glamorgan, although Moeen Ali is missing as he prepares for the Royal London one-day international with Scotland.

Glamorgan are likely to hand bows to Tom Lancefield and Tom Helm, the latter having joined on loan from Middlesex while the former has signed a one-year deal.

Essex could also have two debutants against Leicestershire at the Essex County Ground following the additions of Oliver Newby and Tanweer Sikander.

Seamer Newby has signed on loan from Lancashire, while all-rounder Sikander has been registered after previously playing minor-counties cricket for Hertfordshire.

David Masters, Graham Napier and Sajid Mahmood are sidelined through injury, while Alastair Cook and Ravi Bopara are with England.

James Tredwell, who is also part of Peter Moores’ first squad, is out for Kent against Surrey at the Spitfire Ground.
