Twenty20 cricket fans will be able to join the action and excitement of the new NatWest T20 Blast by playing a new Fantasy Game launched by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) today.
The free-to-play Fantasy Game challenges fans to pick and manage their “dream team” of county cricket’s T20 stars within a budget to stand the chance of winning a great selection of prizes.
Participants will automatically enter the main competition – the winner of which will win £2020 and four tickets for a day’s play of the Investec Ashes Series in 2015. Players will also compete with their fellow county fans in one of 18 mini-leagues – one for each county. The winners of these 18 mini-leagues will each win £500.
Players can also create up to 15 private mini-leagues to compete against friends, family and colleagues.
Fans are asked to enter before Gameweek 1 begins on Friday May 16 by picking their team at fantasy.ecb.co.uk, and are invited to share their team on twitter using #FBL.
The ECB has also recently introduced new and dedicated Twitter and Facebook pages for NatWest T20 Blast and has also revamped the county cricket T20 section of its website. It is a ground-breaking move for the ECB as it has created competition-specific digital channels for the first time and fans will be able to keep up to date with the latest news, statistics, pictures, videos and more from around the counties during the tournament. In the days leading up to the opening fixtures on Friday May 16, the channels will look back at the previous 11 seasons of county T20 and preview the season ahead.
