Sam Robson and captain Chris Rogers fired an unbroken 112-run partnership to guide Middlesex to a comfortable 10-wicket LV= County Championship Division One win over Nottinghamshire at Lord's.
Middlesex's opening pair guided the hosts to victory without loss in their second innings on the final day's play, after Nottinghamshire had slumped to 224 all out having resumed on 184 for five today.
Steven Finn ended the match with nine wickets, four in the second innings to add to his five-wicket first-innings haul.
Robson added 41 steady runs today to his mammoth 163 in Middlesex's first effort as he pressed his claims for a Test debut with England this summer while Rogers raced to 63 from just 50 deliveries.
Nottinghamshire started the day well aware they were battling to salvage a draw.
Wicketkeeper Chris Read had steadied the ship at the end of day three after Middlesex had torn into the visitors' top order once again.
Read was unable to continue that rearguard action long enough though, being the first wicket of the day to fall with Nottinghamshire having added just five runs to their overnight total. Tim Murtagh had Read caught behind by John Simpson for 44 from 52 balls.
Riki Wessels was next to go, sent back to the pavilion by Murtagh again, this time with James Harris taking the catch at mid-on from a leading edge.
Wessels' dismissal for 34 from 88 balls spelled the end of Nottinghamshire's lean resistance.
Harris had Peter Siddle caught behind for 12, before Murtagh bowled Andy Carter to leave the visitors on 218 for nine.
Luke Fletcher mustered five runs from 22 balls but succumbed to Finn, with Simpson holding a catch behind the stumps once more.
Nottinghamshire's 224 left Middlesex chasing 112 for victory, and the opening duo of Rogers and Robson duly picked off the necessary shortly after lunch.
Resurgent fast bowler Finn can be rightly proud of his nine-wicket haul, especially after his hard winter with England that saw him leave Australia early.
Australian-born opener Robson's impressive two-innings effort proved crucial to the Middlesex victory to boot, and the 24-year-old can now move forward to push hard for his first England Test call for the summer battles against Sri Lanka and India.
A fantastic & well deserved win for the lads! #Middlesex150pic.twitter.com/SmY5dTN7pK
