Northamptonshire have been dealt a further blow with the news overseas seamer Rory Kleinveldt has been withdrawn from his contract by Cricket South Africa due to a knee injury.
Kleinveldt was due to arrive in the country on Wednesday, only for CSA to make a late decision.
Their choice comes as an added frustration for Northants given their original overseas signing Jackson Bird was ruled out for the season due to a back injury.
The newly-promoted county, who are beginning their LV= County Championship Division One campaign against Durham on Sunday, will also be without Alex Wakely for the entire season due to an Achilles injury.
