Graham Wagg’s stunning display in Glamorgan’s victory over Surrey has earned the seamer an early lead in the 2014 County FTI MVP rankings.
Wagg ripped the heart out of Surrey’s batting in their second innings with 6-29 to earn a match total of 42 points and help his side get their LV= County Championship campaign off to a dream start.
Another veteran bowler, Jon Lewis, also enjoyed a good opening week with match figures of 6-55 on his Sussex debut, plus an aggressive 35 with the bat.
Lewis, whose best finish in the FTI MVP Rankings was 13th in 2009, earned 40 points from the match.

Worcestershire’s captain faced 306 balls and struck 23 fours, contributing over 49% of his side’s runs.

Mitchell and Smith picked up 39 and 37 points respectively, while Steve Magoffin grabbed 36 after bowling Sussex to victory over Middlesex.
There were good showings, too, from England duo Matt Prior and Steven Finn, who are sixth and ninth respectively. Prior struck a fine 125, while Finn claimed 6-80.
