Highlights from the final day of the LV= County Championship match between Sussex and Middlesex
Australian seamer Steve Magoffin blew away Middlesex's lower order to ease Sussex to victory by an innings and 127 runs at the BrightonandHoveJobs.com County Ground in Division One of the LV= County Championship.
Beginning the final day on 57 for one, the visitors - who were skittled for 105 in their first innings - would have hoped to have made Sussex at least labour in pursuit of the win.
However, they crashed to a miserable defeat after failing to even reach the sanctuary of the lunch interval as they lost all nine remaining wickets this morning to be rolled for 154.
Magoffin was pivotal in that, polishing off the innings by taking the last four to fall - including two in two balls - to finish with 5-56 having removed Sam Robson yesterday evening.
But while the 34-year-old Queenslander, in his third season as the county's overseas player, did the damage to the bottom half of Middlesex's batting order James Anyon arguably made the key breakthroughs for the three-time county champions.
He induced an edge from Australia's Ashes opener Chris Rogers to dismiss him for 41 just when the Middlesex captain looked like he was setting himself for a sustained period of resistance.
Anyon also took Eoin Morgan by surprise with a rising delivery that the England batsman nicked behind to give Ben Brown his second catch of the morning soon after Jon Lewis had Neil Dexter pouched in the cordon.

Dawid Malan seemed to be Middlesex's last hope of salvaging some pride but he gave Lewis a second wicket to a slip catch for 36 and the visitors were 103 for five.
Anyon claimed his third and final victim, pinning Adam Rossington lbw cheaply before making way for Magoffin to apply the finishing touches.
John Simpson gave Michael Yardy another second-slip catch and, although Tim Murtagh survived the hat-trick after Toby Roland-Jones was yorked, James Harris could not stop Magoffin from rearranging his furniture.
England seamer Steven Finn provided some entertainment with a last-man cameo of 26 off 22 balls, including one pick-up off Magoffin which cleared the midwicket boundary and a couple of streaky fours down to third man.
But it merely delayed the inevitable as the man of the hour uprooted two of his stumps to complete the rout.
