Kevin Pietersen has been included in the Rest of the World XI for the Lord's bicentenary match against MCC on July 5.
The 33-year-old batsman has been added to the ROW side, captained by Shane Warne, along with former Sri Lanka spinner Muttiah Muralitharan.
Ex-Australia paceman Brett Lee will line up for MCC, who also boast the likes of Indian duo Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid as well as Durham all-rounder Paul Collingwood.
Pietersen said: "I was very pleased to be asked to be involved in this game and the chance to share the Lord's pitch with some of best players in the world is one I was delighted to accept.
"Shane Warne is a good friend of mine and I've enjoyed playing alongside him before so I'm sure it'll be great fun to do it again.
“Playing at Lord's is always very special and I'm looking forward to celebrating the 200th anniversary of what is a fantastic ground."
Meanwhile, former Australia captain Ricky Ponting has been awarded MCC honorary life membership.
Ponting’s invitation acknowledges his exceptional career in which he scored over 26,000 runs in all forms of the game and averaged 51.85 in 168 Tests.
He is the 33rd Australian to receive the honour, joining the likes of Dennis Lillee, Allan Border and Glenn McGrath on a coveted list of former international cricketers.
Speaking to Lords.org, Ponting said: “It’s fantastic to be given honorary life membership of MCC. I’ve devoted my life to playing cricket and it’s great to be recognised by a club as proud as MCC. Now I’ll be able to come and sit amongst the members and enjoy a Test match which will be a nice thing to do.”
