7:30pm - With today’s LV= County Championship action now at an end, here is a summary of how things stand across the country:

Division One

Middlesex are 137 for four after following on and still trail Yorkshire by 78 runs at Lord's heading into the final day of four.

After two days at the Emirates Durham ICG, Durham are 152 for eight in their second innings and lead Warwickshire by 210 runs.

Derbyshire are 306 for six against Nottinghamshire following a rain-hit second day at Trent Bridge.

At Arundel, Surrey ended day two on one for nought in reply to Sussex's 295.

Division Two

Leicestershire are 142 for three in reply to Northamptonshire's 567 for seven declared after three days at Grace Road.

Lancashire are 266 for seven after two days at Chelmsford and trail Essex by seven.

Gloucestershire are 349 for seven against Hampshire heading into day three at the Ageas Bowl.

At Canterbury, Kent are 73 for four after two days in response to Glamorgan's 378.

7:17pm - If you are able to get to the Emirates Durham ICG tomorrow, ecb.co.uk highly recommends you do so. An intriguing third day is in prospect after Durham reached stumps tonight 210 ahead of Warwickshire on 152 for eight.

@durhamcricket on Twitter:Wicket. With just 7 balls to go is bowled by Rankin. Durham 147-8.

7:06pm - In the only game in which play is continuing, Durham have taken their lead to 200. Much could depend on how many runs they are able to add for their last three second-innings wickets.

6:54pm - Middlesex close on 137 for four, still requiring 78 to make Yorkshire bat again.

@durhamcricket on Twitter: WICKET. chops one on & goes after a great knock, making 83. Durham 127-7. Lead of 185.

6:44pm - And the last delivery of the day has also been bowled at Arundel. Surrey had four tricky overs to face after bowling Sussex out for 295 and survived while reducing their arrears by one run.

Neil Dexter and John Simpson are both on to 20 at Lord's, but Middlesex still have plenty of work to do if they are to avoid defeat at the hands of Yorkshire.

6:35pm - Stumps are drawn at the Ageas Bowl and Gloucestershire will be pleased with their work. The visitors close on 349 for seven, having been asked to bat following yesterday's washout.

The players will not be emerging again at Canterbury, so all of our Division Two games are done for the day.

@kentcricket on Twitter: The players made it to the middle and before a ball was played they came back off,we think for bad light. we will keep you posted

@CricketingBears on Twitter:Another wicket! Durham 106-6. Mustard - Caught Patel - Bowled Clarke for 0

6:22pm - There could be a really intriguing run-chase at the Emirates Durham ICG tomorrow. Durham have lost Paul Collingwood, lbw playing no shot to Rikki Clarke, for seven and lead Warwickshire by 164 on 106 for five.

6:17pm - Dimitri Mascarenhas breaks a seventh-wicket stand of 49 for Gloucestershire by having Will Gidman caught behind eight short of a half-century. Gloucestershire are 338 for seven.

At Arundel, Linley bowls Jordan for 41 to finish with 4-68 as Sussex are dismissed for 295.

@EssexCricket on Twitter: No more play today. Lancashire 266 for 7.

6:07pm - Surrey strike again as Anyon falls lbw to Chris Tremlett without scoring.

The second new ball is taken at Chelmsford, but David Masters is only able to send down two deliveries before the umpires deem conditions too gloomy for play to continue.

5:57pm - Ben Stokes is run out for five following a mix-up with Stoneman, leaving Durham 90 for four.

Sussex are 280 for eight, Tim Linley picking up Steve Magoffin for his third scalp.

Bad light has stopped play at Canterbury with Kent 73 for four.

Katich continues to frustrate Essex and the Australian has a willing ally in Kyle Hogg, who has contributed 17 to a fifty stand.

@LancsCCC on Twitter: Hundred for Katich off 166 with 12x4s. Well played. That's his first Lancashire century. 241-7.

5:51pm - Durham's Stoneman, who is enjoying a fine season, has put his foot down to reach 60 from 73 balls.

Katich is the day's latest centurion and his innings is a very valuable one for Lancashire, who trail Essex by 32 on 241 for seven.

Rashid now has 3-30 after trapping Adam London lbw for three. Middlesex need a partnership...and quickly!

5:44pm - Kent are in real bother now at 65 for four, Hogan having induced an edge behind off Brendan Nash.

Chris Jordan and Wright have taken their seventh-wicket stand past 50 at Arundel, while Gloucestershire have a third batting point.

Yorkshire could yet record an innings win at Lord's. Sam Robson has been bowled by Adil Rashid for 46.

@surreycricket on Twitter: New ball taken...Sussex 258-6

@LancsCCC on Twitter: Katich within one hit of 100 now - 94 he's on. 229-7.

5:30pm - Warwickshire continue to fight back! Patel has Will Smith caught at short-leg for the Bears' third wicket in five overs. Durham lead by 115 on 57 for three.

5:26pm - Scott Borthwick did not last long for Durham, making just two before edging Boyd Rankin into the slips.

Middlesex have also lost a second wicket. They are 73 for two and 142 behind after Joe Denly was stumped off Adil Rashid.

At Canterbury, Michael Hogan has removed Rob Key for 23.

5:08pm - The steady tumble of wickets continues at Chelmsford. Having been 151 for two, Lancashire are now 208 for seven following Topley's dismissal of Wayne White for 12.

Warwickshire claim a vital scalp when Keaton Jennings is caught at slip off Jeetan Patel.

Daniel Bell-Drummond falls to Michael Reed, which means Kent are 50 for two.

And Gloucestershire's Marshall is finally out for 114, David Balcombe the man to remove him.

@derbyshireccc on Twitter: CLOSE! And that's it for the day. Derbyshire close on 306-6 (81.5 overs); Wainwright 6* and Johnson 8*

@leicsccc on Twitter: STUMPS: That's it for the day - outfield too wet

@derbyshireccc on Twitter: RAIN! It is raining again at Trent Bridge. Play now seems unlikely to resume this evening. No news yet from the umpires.

4:58pm - Durham are establishing a very useful position against Warwickshire. Stoneman and Jennings have put on 36 so far, taking their side's overall advantage to 94.

4:47pm - Marshall hits successive deliveries from Liam Dawson for four and six to bring up his hundred from 170 balls.

Jade Dernbach bowls Ben Brown to leave Sussex 208 for six.

Kent lose their first wicket in reply to Glamorgan's 378 as Graham Wagg has Sam Northeast caught in the slips for 12.

4:42pm - Two wicketkeepers depart within moments of each other, Prior falling to Zafar Ansari and Lancashire's Gareth Cross to Reece Topley.

Rain subsequently returns at Chelmsford with the Red Rose 193 for six.

Middlesex have halted Yorkshire's charge at Lord's - for the time being at least - while Marshall is now into the nineties.

4:30pm - A nine-delivery over containing three no-balls is probably not quite what Hampshire wanted from Sohail Tanvir at the start of the evening session.

Hamish Marshall continues to hold the Gloucestershire innings together in that match. He now has 87.

4:21pm - It is now tea-time at Arundel, where Sussex are 201 for four against Surrey with Matt Prior and Luke Wright on 37 and seven respectively.

Durham's openers - Mark Stoneman and Keaton Jennings - have made a cautious start as they seek to build on a first-innings lead of 58.

4:09pm - Middlesex's position grows more perilous as Chris Rogers is caught behind off Ryan Sidebottom for a duck in the first over of his team's second innings.

Glamorgan have finally been bowled out for 378 following a 10th-wicket stand of 40.

Sussex have a first batting point.

4:05pm - Here's a mid-afternoon summary, with tea taken at Lord's, Durham, Chelmsford and the Ageas Bowl and rain still ruling the roost in the midlands:

Division One
On day three at Lord’s, Middlesex have been bowled out for 175 in reply to Yorkshire’s 390 and are following-on.
Warwickshire are 209 all out, 58 behind Durham’s first-innings total on the second day at the Emirates Durham ICG.
Derbyshire are 306 for six against Nottinghamshire on day two at Trent Bridge.
Sussex are 182 for four on day two of their game against Surrey at Arundel.

Division Two
On day three at Grace Road, Leicestershire are 142 for three in reply to Northamptonshire’s 567 for seven declared.
Lancashire are 176 for five in reply to Essex’s 273 on day two at Chelmsford.
Glamorgan are 378 for nine on day two of their clash with Kent at Canterbury.
Gloucestershire are 231 for five against Hampshire on day two at the Ageas Bowl.

3:58pm - Benny Howell moved briskly to 54 for Gloucestershire before being castled by Sean Ervine. The visitors are 231 for five at the Ageas Bowl with Marshall still present on 78.

3:54pm - Lancashire are longing for the solace of the Chelmsford pavilion. Croft goes, caught at the wicket off Napier without scoring. The Essex all-rounder has 3-46.

3:50pm -Warwickshire are all out for 209 at Durham - a deficit of 58 at the halfway stage. Stokes wrapped up the innings with two wickets in an over to finish with 4-49.

Zander de Bruyn has checked Sussex's progress by trapping Yardy lbw for 69. Prior remains on 25 and the score is 180 for four.

3:47pm - Having spent much of the session on the back foot, Essex have Lancashire under real pressure as the tea interval approaches. Andrea Agathangelou replaced Prince and made just six before being bowled by Graham Napier. Katich is still there on 61.

3:42pm - Paterson added another in his next over, Corey Collymore lbw for one, and Middlesex are all out for 175, 215 in arrears and preparing to bat again after tea as Yorkshire have enforced the follow-on.

Glamorgan will be far more satisfied as their first innings nears its conclusion at Canterbury. The visitors are 350 for nine after Mark Hogan was bowled by Calum Haggett. The Kent youngster now has career-best figures of 4-87.

@leicsccc on Twitter: UPDATE: It has stopped raining but lots of water behind the bowlers' run up at the Pavilion End

3:36pm - The follow-on appears imminent at Lord's after Steven Paterson, who boasts impressive figures of 3-39, traps Berg for 56.

3:32pm - And that's the 12th half-century of Patel's career. Well batted sir! Warwickshire have passed 200 - an unlikely prospect when they languished on 116 for seven after lunch. For Bears fans of a positive disposition, Patel has a sole first-class hundred to his name. Can he go on and double his tally?

3:25pm - Masters has his man. Prince is caught behind for 56 and the Essex bowler certainly enjoyed that one!

Barker departs lbw to Rushworth up at Durham for 31 following a 72-run stint alongside Patel, who is 38 not out with Warwickshire's score 188 for eight.

Berg has a thoroughly well-earned half-century to his name at Lord's in the face of the Yorkshire onslaught. He reached the landmark in 66 balls, striking seven fours

3:15pm - Murray Goodwin goes for 136. Charlie Shreck is the bowler celebrating - he has 3-81 - and Glamorgan are 325 for eight.

Katich joins Prince in bringing up a half-century and will hope to emulate Gloucestershire's Hamish Marshall. The New Zealander has rattled along to 70 after reaching the same landmark at the Ageas Bowl.

3:10pm - If only Middlesex could find someone to join Gareth Berg in his admirable rearguard effort. James Harris has gone lbw to Ryan Sidebottom and the score is 141 for eight.

Lancashire's Prince is through to his fifty having enjoyed more than a touch of fortune. The South African was dropped at slip by Tom Westley off David Masters when on 49 before the Essex seamer had a strong leg-before shout rejected.

@Yorkshireccc on Twitter: Gareth Berg's on 39 and Middlesex get to 141-7 but they still need 100 to avoid being asked to follow on

@surreycricket on Twitter: Welcome back old friend

2:50pm - Jeetan Patel has decided attack is the best remedy to Warwickshire's struggles at the Emirates Durham ICG. The New Zealand spinner has 28 from 29 balls in a partnership of 50 with Keith Barker. The visitors are 166 for seven, 101 behind.

2:45pm - Yardy is 54 not out having been joined in the middle by Matt Prior and Sussex are 143 for two. Prior's international captain has just brought up a half century of his own at The Oval.

@TrentBridge on Twitter: Thunder and lightning here at the Bridge, and after Franks' over was cut short...

2:37pm - The redoubtable Goodwin is starting to run out of partners. Claydon strikes again to remove Wagg - Ben Harmison displaying safe hands as he did to account for Wallace. Goodwin has 120 of Glamorgan's 294 for seven.

@surreycricket on Twitter: Sussex 129-3..Joyce c and b Linley 36

2:33pm - Plunkett has two more at HQ. Joe Sayers took an excellent catch in the cordon to dismiss Adam London for 28 before Ollie Rayner was pinned lbw with a run to his name. Middlesex are 115 for seven.

2:27pmHold your applause, Notts and Derby fans... they're off again!

@TrentBridge on Twitter: Play will resume at 2.20, subject to more rain. Derbyshire will resume on 300-6

2:14pm - Murray Goodwin and Glamorgan have accelerated nicely after lunch at Canterbury, with the seasoned Zimbabwean bringing up a splendid century - his second in as many championship innings. However, he is now accompanied by Graham Wagg after Mitchell Claydon dismissed Mark Wallace for 34 to claim a maiden Kent wicket.

Another debutant, Sohail Tanvir, removed Chris Dent for 35 and Hampshire have Gloucestershire 124 for four.

2:07pm - Sussex have passed 100 at Arundel and Michael Yardy, 40 not out, is approaching a half-century alongside skipper Ed Joyce.

Similarly, the partnership between international veterans Ashwell Prince and Simon Katich could hold the key to the contest at Chelmsford. The duo's alliance is now worth 52, with Lancashire 93 for two.

1:57pm - The first breakthrough of the afternoon comes at Lord's where Middlesex are now staring firmly at the prospect of the follow-on. Liam Plunkett rearranged John Simpson's furniture to claim a second wicket of the hosts' innings, which has slumped to 84 for five.

And Durham have two more - Warwickshire now 116 for seven after Mark Wood bowled Ateeq Javid and Rikki Clarke edged Ben Stokes to second slip. Wood, Stokes and Chris Rushworth all have two wickets apiece.

1:45pm - We're back underway after lunch but the rain continues to fall at Trent Bridge and is also coming down a short way across the midlands at Grace Road, where the players remain in the pavilion.

1:05pm - Here are the lunchtime scores:

12:40pm - Regular wickets keep coming for Yorkshire as Steven Patterson traps Neil Dexter in front for 11, reducing Middlesex to 59 for four in reply for 390.

James Middlebrook likewise removes Eckersley for 43, halting an alliance of 99 with Burns. Leicestershire 118 for three.

12:30pm - Rushworth claims a second scalp, having Will Porterfield caught at second slip. Warwickshire are therefore 76 for three.

12:10pm - Derbyshire lose their fourth wicket of the morning and third in four overs as Gurney removes Ben Slater. The visitors to Trent Bridge have slipped from 265 for two to 291 for six.

Play resumes at Lord’s.

@Yorkshireccc on Twitter: Bad light stopped here. Very frustrating. Middlesex 32-2

11:40am - Adams has Madsen lbw for 74, ending a stand with Shivnarine Chanderpaul worth 165 and leaving Derbyshire 265 for three.

Surrey have an early breakthrough as Jade Dernbach traps Luke Wells in front for three.

@hantscricket on Twitter: Dimi nearly has his first wicket when Dawson puts down a low chance a slip. The ball is definitely moving around quite a bit. Glouc 30-1.

11:30am - Lancashire take the second new ball before Kyle Hogg spills a skied caught-and-bowled chance to remove David Masters. However, Chapple bowls Reece Topley to dismiss Essex for 273.

Gloucestershire suffer an early blow as Sohail Tanvir has Michael Klinger lbw in the first over.

10:50am - The coin is finally spun at Arundel and Surrey choose to bowl first. Play is due to start at 11:15am.

@DurhamCricket on Twitter: Shower has turned into very heavy rain here at the ground!

10:40am - The toss takes place 24 hours late at the Ageas Bowl where Hampshire opt to bowl first under overcast skies. Given the match will be a maximum of three days, the hosts have selected Dimitri Mascarenhas who is usually a one-day specialist these days given his injury problems.

@surreycricket on Twitter:If no further rain we will start at 11:15 and no overs lost..toss at 10:45 @ArundelCricket
