Jack Greenwood, who won the NatWest OSCA Lifetime Achiever Award in 2013, has received further recognition at the 51st Torch Trophy Trust Awards.
The 82-year-old was rewarded last year for his outstanding contribution to Denholme Cricket Club in Yorkshire, following which Jack was put forward by the ECB for a Torch Trophy Trust honour.
HRH The Princess Royal presented this year’s Torch Trophy Trust awards, which take place every year at the Royal Army and Navy Club in London to celebrate the tireless work of sport’s unsung heroes.
And Tuesday March 18 saw Jack among those receiving his award from HRH The Princess Royal.
Jack said: "I am extremely proud to have been invited to such an event and to receive the award from HRH was wonderful and a real honour, the evening got even better when Sir Bobby Charlton joined us for a chat."
Jane Hannah (National Volunteer & Participation Manager, ECB) joined Jack and his guests at the event and added: "To be amongst such inspirational volunteers was a real honour and Jack’s recognition was fully deserved.
"As the start of the new season gets closer it is an important time to say thank you to all of the volunteers and wish them a good season."
