Leicestershire have signed former Derbyshire batsman Dan Redfern on a two-year contract.
The 23-yer-old, who surprisingly left Derbyshire by mutual consent in November, has scored 3,213 first-class runs over his career.
He said: “I am grateful to Phil Whitticase and his staff for this opportunity and look forward to the challenge ahead.”
Director of cricket Phil Whitticase added: “We are really pleased to welcome Dan to Grace Road; he will be a great addition for us.
“Dan is a quality, young top-order batsman; he is excellent in the field and also bowls good off-spin, so we are delighted to have him on board.”
