With all seven games now done for the day, here is a summary of how things stand.

We will be back tomorrow as five matches come to an end.

Division One

Sussex are 228 for four having followed on at Lord’s and trail Middlesex by 49 heading into the final day.

Surrey are 269 for seven in reply to Warwickshire’s 631 for nine declared at the end of day three at Guildford.

At Scarborough, Yorkshire are 358 for four after three days, responding to Nottinghamshire’s 443.

After two days at Taunton, Durham are 163 for three in reply to Somerset’s 458.

Division Two

Northamptonshire defeated Worcestershire by 10 wickets at Wantage Road.

Gloucestershire are 456 for four at Bristol in reply to Glamorgan’s 448, with one day still to come.

After three days at the Ageas Bowl, Hampshire are 98 for three in their second innings and lead Kent by 232.

6:47pm - Keith Barker rounds off a stunning final half-hour at Guildford by dismissing Jason Roy for two. That makes it four wickets for seven runs in 31 deliveries. Surrey close on 269 for seven and the follow-on now looks a distinct possibility.

6:38pm - Overton brings the second day at Taunton to a conclusion with the wicket of Will Smith. Durham, for whom Stoneman has 78, close 295 in arrears on 163 for three.

Gloucestershire reach stumps on 456 for four against Glamorgan, leading by eight.

At the Ageas Bowl, Hampshire end day three 232 ahead on 98 for three.

Ponting moves to 50 in the only game where play is still continuing.

6:27pm - Good grief! Rankin makes it three wickets in an over by trapping Gary Wilson lbw for two! In five balls, the giant Warwickshire paceman has doubled the number of breakthroughs in the day at Guildford. Surrey are now under some pressure, requiring 218 more to avoid the follow-on.

6:25pm - Boyd Rankin bowls Zander de Bruyn and nightwatchman Stuart Meaker in the space of three deliveries to leave Surrey 262 for five.

Sussex end day three at Lord's trailing by 49 on 228 for four, Joyce and Wright having put on an unbroken 105 to halt Middlesex's victory charge.

Gloucestershire now lead at Bristol and still have six first-innings wickets intact.

@surreycricket on Twitter: A perfect evening

6:03pm - Borthwick takes 11 from Arul Suppiah's first over to reach a 57-ball half-century, but falls to George Dockrell in the next set of six.

They are done for the day at Scarborough, where Yorkshire have amassed 358 for four on the back of hundreds from Gale and Ballance.

Play is about to recommence at Bristol, where nine overs remain.

Sussex now trail by just 61 as the partnership between Joyce and Wright nears 100.

5:53pm - And now Ballance can celebrate a century of his own. He and Gale have put on 230 so far to rescue Yorkshire from a perilous position.

Scott Borthwick is prospering alongside Stoneman at Taunton.

@hantscricket on Twitter: WICKET: McKenzie's hit the ball onto his own stumps and Hampshire are now 53-3. A lead of 187 runs.

5:46pm - Yorkshire skipper Gale moves past his previous highest first-class score of 151 not out.

Hampshire are scoring with predictable speed against Kent. I wonder what sort of declaration we will see from the Ageas Bowl hosts tomorrow?

Rain has forced a stoppage at Bristol, with Gloucestershire having not added to their total since Gidman's exit.

@GlamCricket on Twitter: Gidman is caught and bowled by Cosker for 113. Glos 432/4.

@OptaJim on Twitter: 6 - has six scores of 50 or over in his last nine first class innings for . Solid.

5:33pm - Well I never - a wicket has fallen in the clash between Surrey and Warwickshire, only the third today and 13th of the match. Arun Harinath is the man to go, caught by visiting skipper Jim Troughton off Rikki Clarke for 65.

Joyce has 50 against his former county at Lord's.

5:26pm - Gidman reaches his century, from just 117 balls. It would appear the pitch at Bristol is about as helpful to bowlers as the one at Guildford. Gloucestershire are 414 for three and 34 behind Glamorgan.

5:18pm - Kent strike again, Michael Carberry falling leg-before to Charlie Shreck.

Yorkshire now have 300 on the board and Ballance is nearing a hundred.

Ricky Ponting is in the runs again for Surrey, who - like Warwickshire - are making the most of the flat deck at Guildford.

5:14pm - Hampshire lose an early wicket in their second innings as Matt Coles removes Jimmy Adams for a blob. The runs will surely flow freely at the Ageas Bowl this evening after Kent declared behind.

Ed Joyce and Luke Wright bring up a very important half-century alliance for Sussex in quick time. The experienced duo need to keep going if Middlesex are to be denied.

5:05pm - Glamorgan finally remove Michael Klinger at Bristol. The home captain is caught behind off Jim Allenby for 142, with Alex Gidman nine short of a century.

Mark Stoneman brings up a 53-ball fifty for Durham, who are 81 for one in reply to Somerset's 458.

At Scarborough, Andrew Gale and Ballance have set a new record partnership for Yorkshire's fifth wicket against Nottinghamshire. The Tykes are 286 for four.

@hantscricket on Twitter: Kent have declared on 321-7, still trailing Hampshire by 134 runs. Clear effort from both sides to create a match result. Game on!

4:53pm - Surrey’s Arun Harinath heralds a typically patient fifty from 134 balls.

4:39pm - James Harris takes the vital wicket of Matt Prior as Sussex, following on, slip to 123 for four. They are still 154 behind.

4:33pm - Jamie Overton ousts Keaton Jennings for 15, leaving Durham 38 for one.

David Balcombe snares Ben Harmison for 63, making Kent 301 for seven. Soon after, they avoid the follow-on.

4:24pm - Ateeq Javid has Solanki lbw for 69 to herald tea with Surrey 169 for two in response to Warwickshire’s 631 for nine declared.

There are now rain delays at Bristol and Taunton.

2:50pm - Darren Stevens has a fifty in just 44 balls for Kent, who are 228 for five in reply to Hampshire’s 455.

on Twitter: Just a reminder that Boyd Rankin now plays in the game and replaces Tom Milnes

2:40pm - Gidman goes to a half-century as Gloucestershire bare down on Glamorgan’s first-innings score.

2:28pm - We've had a quick bout of hokey cokey down at Lord's. The players were off for rain and back on moments later. Sussex are 34 for one after nine overs of their second innings.

2:14pm - Gloucestershire bring their 300 up, with Michael Klinger and Alex Gidman closing in on a fifty stand for the third wicket. The former has 124 to his name.

@surreycricket on Twitter: 14:30 start ...59 overs left today..16:20 tea

@hantscricket on Twitter: Tomlinson has his first wicket of the match, well-caught at slip by Dawson to dismiss Nash. Kent now 156-5.

1:57pm - Two wickets in as many balls sees Scott Borthwick wrap up the Somerset innings at Taunton. A brief bout of lusty hitting from George Dockrell and Jamie Overton had moved the hosts' score to 458.

1:48pm -  And Sussex's woes continue at HQ! Tim Murtagh makes sure the first over of their second innings is a wicket-maiden by trapping Luke Wells in front off its final ball.

1:45pm - Good news from Southampton, where they've started the afternoon session on time following a washed-out morning. Meanwhile, at Lord's, Middlesex have asked Sussex to follow on. Ed Joyce's men must tackle a mighty first-innings deficit of 277.

12:40pm - Will Beer’s resistance alongside Wright ends as Neil Dexter has him caught behind for 25, breaking an alliance of 88. Next ball former Sussex spinner Ollie Rayner has Wright caught and bowled for 77, making Sussex 205 for nine and in danger of being made to follow on after Middlesex’s 499 for eight declared.

Kyle Coetzer hits Shantry for six to complete a comprehensive win that extends Northants’ lead over second-placed Worcestershire at the top of Division Two to a whopping 44 points and with a game in hand over their opponents.

There is still no play at Guildford and the Ageas Bowl. In the other ongoing matches Sussex, Yorkshire, Somerset and Gloucestershire are yet to lose a wicket today.
