Sri Lanka A Emerging Players held on for a draw with England Lions on day three at Colombo’s Premadasa Stadium.
The Lions this morning extended their overnight 253 for five to 383 all out, Scott Borthwick contributing 52 from number eight and last man Tymal Mills striking 31 not out in 17 balls.
That set the hosts an improbable 409 for victory and they avoided defeat thanks mainly to 63 from Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Roshen Silva’s unbeaten 46.
Off-spinner Moeen Ali was the best bowler in the last innings, returning 3-51 from 16 overs including the wicket of Rajapaksa during a total of 192 for five from 54 overs.
