Sarah Taylor insists England will not rest on their laurels in the multi-format Ashes series despite winning the sole Test.
With the remaining encounters, three ODIs and as many Twenty20s, worth only two points each compared to the six that were on offer in the four-day game, the tourists are firm favourites to retain the urn.
However, Charlotte Edwards’ side still require two wins to achieve their ultimate ambition – and Taylor is all too aware of the threat posed by an Australia side that are world champions in both limited-overs formats.
She told ecb.co.uk: “There is everything still to play for; they can still win from here. It was obviously brilliant to win a Test match in Australia.
“But, with how up and down that game was, you’ve got to look at it, celebrate it but knuckle down ready for the first ODI on Sunday.
“It’s definitely still all to play for and we will be going hard.”
While England are understandably brimming with confidence, a change in tact may well bring alterations for the first ODI at the MCG.
Taylor added: “I think you’ve always got to look at changes in personnel for different formats. We’ll obviously leave that to the selectors but there probably will be some changes.”
Playing at the iconic ground in Melbourne is a continuation of the recent boom in the female game.
Indeed, this encounter follows on from that aforementioned Test at the WACA and Taylor admits she is living her dream by playing at these illustrious venues.
She said: “In terms of the profile of the game, the higher it’s getting, the more chance we’re getting to play at these venues.
“You grow up as a kid watching the men at these grounds, wishing that you could. And then the next thing you know, you are.
“It is so good. The WACA was brilliant; I never thought I’d play there. The grounds are just brilliant.”
